Immersed in the heart of the Ligurian inland, Locanda Mirei originates from the restoration of an early-Twentieth-century oil mill, situated in an enchanting position between olive groves, vineyards and hills that slope towards the sea.

The renovation of the rural building was able to preserve the authentic charm of the original structure: stone walls, exposed wooden beams, the original cementine tiles and the liberty-style details harmoniously coexist with modern comforts and refined finishings.

The portico with round arches welcomes the guests with an enchanting view of the sea where the unmistakeable outline of the Isola Gallinara stands out, while the lush garden offers quiet corners and panoramic scenes.

Distributed over three levels, the Locanda houses six apartments and common spaces such as the breakfast room, the reception and a welcoming bar area. Each detail was thought to offer a stay that combines authenticity, warmth and wellness.

When the past meets the art of hospitality

This ancient rural house, born for the pressing of olives and to serve the surrounding fields by preserving the tools for the care of olive trees and vineyards, tells a story of work and bond with the territory.

Today, thanks to a careful restoration work, the building has come back to life, turned into a charming inn that celebrates the Ligurian tradition without giving up on contemporary comforts.

Every environment, from the luminous spaces to the blossoming portico, keeps traces of the past reinterpreted with a modern twist.

Mirei: the memory of a great woman

Mirei is much more than a name: it is a tribute to a family history that has its roots in the heart of Finale Ligure. Maurizio Cocco, owner of the Locanda, wanted to dedicate this special place to his mother Mireille, figure of great strength and sensibility, coming from a renowned family of hoteliers.

With Locanda Mirei, Maurizio chose to honour not only Mireille’s memory – fondly shortening her name – but also continuing the tradition of hospitality that her family has been carrying on for generations. It is a gesture that combines respect for the origins with the desire to create a charming retreat for travellers looking for authenticity.

Locanda Mirei’s philosophy embraces a mindful hospitality, in harmony with the environment and the resources of the area. During the renovation, interventions that reduce environmental impact and improve energetic efficiency were put in place.
